Shane Moore

Experience

Shane has over a decade of experience in financial services, both in Australia and abroad in London. Shane's experience spans many sectors including banking, insurance and investment. He has held roles such as Personal Banking Manager through to product development and compliance roles for major Australian companies including the NAB, Suncorp, IAG and ANZ/ING (via their fully owned subsidiary, M3FS).

Immediately prior to establishing Equita, Shane worked with one of Australia's largest financial planning groups (part of the ANZ Banking Group) in their Advice & Advocacy team. Shane's primary role was to visit financial advisers and planners throughout the country to assess the quality of their advice, and to help them to improve their advice. This background ensures that the quality of advice is paramount in everything Shane does.

In this role, Shane was able to see firsthand the best (and worst) practices in the industry. This experience helped Shane realise the best way to ensure people were getting the right service and advice was to do it himself.

Knowledge

Shane's knowledge of financial services extends beyond simply completing the minimum education requirements for financial planners and mortgage brokers. Shane's previous roles have required a far greater knowledge of the industry and the products he deals with.

Shane has a genuine interest in financial markets and the greater economy. When not dealing directly with his clients, Shane is researching investment markets and new developments within the industry to ensure his clients are always kept informed of the latest opportunities available to them.

Shane is always looking to increase his knowledge, and is currently completing post-graduate studies towards a Master of Applied Finance, a qualification that will set him further apart from the pack.

Passion

Knowledge and experience is nothing without passion. Despite a successful career in finance, Shane's passion for helping clients achieve their goals led him to create Equita Financial. No longer willing to deal with the constraints of working for a corporation, Shane realised that the only way to provide the service he felt his clients deserved was to branch out on his own.

  • Advanced Diploma of Financial Services - Financial Planning (currently studying)
  • Certificate IV in Financial Services - Mortgage Broking / Finance
